Coming along to this trip were :
Louis and family,
Ben and Mariana,
Ben and family,
David and family.
Greg and Ranae were already at Gordon Country, as they had to return early Sunday due to Mother's day events.
After camp was set up, and a quick bit to eat, we hit the tracks. The first interesting area we came across was a small playground for 4WDs. After a bit of a play, we continued down the track and also collected by firewall. The tracks were fairly easy, well .... very easy. But they did lead up across some high ridges with some great views.
In the distance, we could see a sizable waterfall.

But is wasn't long before we hit the end of the track at started to come back. The clouds moved in, and below is a photo of the waterfall on the way back.

By 3pm we were back at the camp site, and unfortunately it started raining. But it didn't stop us from starting a camp fire, or the kids having some great fun in the creek. Lots of stones and clear water, so there wasn't too much mud.

By night time, the rain stopped, and the wood was piled onto the campfire. It kept everyone warm, and the wind continuously changed direction.

The next morning, the kids got to check out another creek, while most adults enjoyed the remains of the campfire.

Later that morning we drove along a track to a lookout. To my excitement, I saw a warning sign saying "steep climb ahead ... dry weather conditions only". After engaging low range, the next corner revealed the climb. But the track turned in a bitumen road. After a 400m walk to the lookout, we headed back to our vehicles to investigate a waterfall.
It was a 1.8km walk in one direction, and a fair amount of downhill. It meant it was a 1.8km walk back up the hill too. Though the waterfall wasn't that big, we did see some good examples of how wet it cab be in a rainforest.

We didn't do that much driving, but had a good time for around the campfire and walks through the rainforests.
