By 9am Saturday morning Mark, Cos, Tim, Tracey and Don were gathered at the Beaudesert Maccas ready and chomping at the bit to go. Around 11am we were checking in at the office at the park and discovering that the Warwick 4wd Corroboree, grey skys, the AFL and NRL Grand Finals had not dissuaded a decent crowd heading for Levuka. There was even a coffee van doing good trade opposite the office.
After making camp we headed into the rainforest tracks - it became immediately apparent that the drought had not much effect on this little patch of the world.

The map indicated that a waterfall was not far off the track so we parked and set off along the creek bed.

Technically it is a waterfall I guess.

Away from the slush and clay for a short trip down "Rock N Roll" Gully.

There were plenty of ups and downs - a nice shot below of Tim showing what is underneath the Triton.

And the shiny side!

Cos coming up a "grade 3" Rufus Run - about half way. Tricky if you don't make it, as there are no winching points and it is a long run up - and plenty of spectators.

Mark in the playpen:

The exit is a bit more to your left Cos.

Havoc Crossing didn't look too bad except the clay at the bottom was very, very slick and no room for a runup with a very tight left hand turn. More winch practice! The rest of us went the long way after Mark was safely through.

Mark led us through the "Test Track" obstacle course. The logs were quite slick from light rain and clay.

The park has a terrific range of terrain - flat /steep/dry/wet/open fields / wet rainforest

The camping was great too. The park even had a band playing on Sunday night.
(I know the photo is hard to see .... artistic license.....it's the vibe...)

After cloudy skies and showers on Sunday, the weather on Monday morning was glorious - just in time for us to head home.
We all came away with some unplanned modifications. I have some new artistic impressions on my drivers side door, Cos has a remodelled side step, Tim took some of his rear bumper home as a passenger - and Mark broke a bracket on a rear light....again. But worse things happen in shopping centre car parks.
A terrific weekend - thanks again to Mark for organising and leading the trip.
