We then took the opportunity to buy some local fruit, before the group checked into the hotel, or set up the camper trailer. The half the group then to check out some more cafes/wineries, while the other half went to Donnellys castle. There was no sign of the yowie this time though.

A photo of people taking a photo around the boulders

There was a bit of a rock-piling competition.

Naturally, most boulders had to be climbed .... while the kids still had energy.

Proof we did go off-road. Ok - the dirt track was generally smoother than most Brisbane roads.
It was then time to meet at the Varias Restaurant for dinner and the AGM. Maximum efficiency was put into the AGM, i.e. completed within minutes. I believe we will have a new secretary, with other positions being filled by existing members.
Don again went to extra effort and presented a range of trophies. Well done to the winners. And again a special thanks to Don for arranging that whole event.
After dinner, it was time for most people to get to bed, expect for Don and David who drive further south to find a dark site to take some photos of the stars. It was the wrong time of the year to capture the Milky Way, but David was testing the computer interface and star tracker mounted on the tripod. Though there were computer driver issues, various good photos were taken.

Taken with a wide angle lens, the Big dipper (yellow arrows pointing to key stars) revelled a nice nebula. BTW - every photo taken had between 1 and 4 satellites somewhere in the image.
The nice morning it was time for breakfast. The group split in two again, with half visiting Wallangarra and the other half doing a walk at Girraween National Park.
It was getting very warm, so the group at Girraween National Park didn't climb the Pyramid, and instead did a circuit walk.

The kids had great fun finding Cicada shells, and were worn as badges.
After stopping off at the Jam works, it was then time for quick snack as the group started heading home.
Again a special thanks to Don for organising the event and AGM. It was a great event.
