I really hope you get to go. We have unfortunately missed every trip to this area over the past few years. One day :(

I will have a talk to the man upstairs for you :)

OK, so I had a chat with the ranger (nice fellow). The Telstra track is a track that goes from Governors chair to the top part of Spicers Gap Road. It is NOT the original fenced off part of spicers gap road, but instead a trail that Telstra put in for a fibre optic cable and that national parks use as a fire trail. It's not very long, but should be quite interesting.

The plan will be to go from Aratula, up the lower end of Spicers Gap Road to Governors chair. There is a short stop at a natural well on the way. We can then go through the Telstra track and do the top part of Spicers Gap Rd.

We can then drop the key off and go to a nice picnic spot at the top of Cunninghams gap. There aren't any other tracks in the immediate area so we can either go for a long lunch there or maybe a bush walk or whatever else you might like to do.

Our biggest problem is the predicted rain on Friday. I'll contact the ranger on Friday and we'll make a call on if the trip is on or not then. If we do get rain there is not much point in doing the trip as there is nothing much else around Aratula for 4wding.

If you have a fallback plan I'm all ears.

Please check back at the forum on Friday night and again before you leave on Saturday in case of cancellation (I might not be able to get hold of everyone by phone).

Thanks.

Hi All,

TRIP CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN

Unfortunately the rain has beaten us. The ranger called just now and it is too wet.

If you read this here can you please reply so I know you got the message (Otherwise I have to start ringing around).

I'll try to schedule this for another day.

A couple of us were keen to do a little more exploring around Glasshouse. Perhaps continue on from where we finished last time.

[provided we don't get any heavy rain overnight]

Anyone interested?
