Scenic Rim 4WD Park 3/5/2009 [Recovered]
Posted: August 9th, 2011, 9:48 am
Well i met up with Cheesmaker at his place then we then wondered out to maccas at Beaudesert where we both met up with the otehre Tim who as usuall was late, After we filled our guts on that stuff they call food at mcdonalds the 3 of us left about 9:30 and arrived at the park around 10ish. We signed in and ventured into the unknown well only for cheesemaker, after showing him the play area where tim and myself drove the wombat holes relatively easy, then it was the other tims turn and well didnt he put on a show for all of us and just about had tim and myself in fits laughing and then we all drove around the scenic drive and the creek bed which we both looked at doing most of the creek we all pulled out and decided to give it a go later on in the day.By this time we decided to sit under a tree and have a bight to eat, at this stage we were all enjoying ourselves and a mate of mine then turned up and try his new toy out which actually suprised all of us. We drove the wombat holes once more to see how the GU went and once again everyone took the chicken track out of the creek run but from what i beleive i suprised everyone and drove most of the creek run but unfortunately had abit of dramaabout half way along the creek runa d got hung up on the passengers side chassis rail. After alot of time road building i managed to carry along while then i relaised the track was actually marked as a extreme track with carnage to be expected and luckily i received none apart from a rain channel. We then took a drive up to over look city view and brisbane and i gave range rover tim a chance to lead and typical he lead us down a nice of camber track which tested a few cars and drivers out. By this stage it was getting to about 3:30 in the arvo and we found a rock in camp ground 1 that tim and myself had possed on (i meant the vehicles) and we then all drove through this big hole which was actually bigger than it was last week and after a few of us drove through tim in the rangie decides to have a crack and he kept getting stuck and after alot of rocking of the vehicle and more right foot he just gave it too much power and ofcourse something went pop. We all suspected it to be the axles so we had to pull them out and we were all shocked that the axles were both fine. So we pressumed now its the crown wheel and pinion so we then had to remove the rear tail shaft, which by doing that it allows him to drive the vehicle home on the front diff. This unfortunately took us till about 5:15 and in the mean time it started to rain but had to keep working on it.
Thanks guys for a awesome day and beleive me when i say this but it was seriously the best trip.
In you go it's not deep

Easy peezy for a Patrol

This ute made light work of this track

Creek bed run, not for the faint hearted

We can drive this

THAT was close

Here we go

800 kilometres of corragations at Cape York is going to wreck a vehicle before this activity does.

Carefull driving landed Greg placed nicely on top of this rock

Even the Corgi cruncher cannot be stopped

Even older vehicles need to stretch before exercising

Greg found a hole to hide in

Let us in, let us in
