Landcruiser Mountain Park April 2010 [Recovered]

Ok, it's time for me to stop procrastinating and write up a report.
Joining me on the expedition was Dipmaker and handbrake, Mad Marvie and family, maveric + 1, Gary and nephew and cheesemaker.
On arriving Saturday morning early we quickly setup camp at the Gums. Scooter was already well setup with CT and large tarp. Gary had to move camp, but did so by throwing the tent (fully setup) on top of the trailer.
I led the first morning by going around the back of cruiser on the green loop track. Not being there before (and not liking to get lost) I kept a close eye on the map. We found a few nice little bog holes which proved no problem at all.
After a bit more of a cruise we found some more muddy ruts. These looked a little deeper than those of the past, but no worry, Greg made it through no worries, so the hilux should do it easy. Unfortunately my tires weren't as big as I thought and I got stuck. Quick pull out and Gary gave it a go. His tyres are about the same size as mine and the result was the same. Got him out and Scooter could not resist. Same result. No worries Gary go to pull him out and.... got stuck. Meanwhile Greg has been busy pulling us all out. Steve had more sense and drove around.
Back for lunch and Tim rolls in just in time. Good thing too as he knows the place much better than me! With Tim at the helm we wondered off to Telecom hill. After a bit of mucking around in a big hole at the bottom, we all got up and over no problems. I expected that hill to be more of an issue. Luck it was dry.
Right on queue a Nissan breaks down. Well not really, just a little issue with a tyre.
Tim them led us in a pretty wild ride through Club Rally circuit then off to the pig pen. A few of us had a little play in the mud. Probably a bit foolishly as I now have some crap in my rear brake drums I think. The braver souls headed back into club rally, and the hungry ones headed back to camp.
Scooter had a minor issue with a front axle and had to come back in three wheel drive.
A good night was had by all with a tolerably good fire (need more wood next time), great liqueurs from Steve and some good games.
The next morning we had a great drive up Prado Pde. It is marked as extreme on the map, but I really enjoyed it. We were a bit worried about Scooter, but three wheels or four, you just can't stop him! Down RAV ridge and then off to good ol Camp road.
The live axle guys did a great job of getting down it. Good driving. The rest of us went down the side tracks. I got caught out in the holes at the bottom of one side track, but had a bloody good time!
Along Camp road to The Sure Track then back to camp.
