Saturday the 24th saw the Jackson 5, Allan and Karen, Ben and Mariana, Jonathan and Vicky, Tim and Mel and Arie and myself meet at The Springs 4wd Park. After setting up our camping gear (except for the Jackson's who arrived the night before) we got out on to the tracks

We started with some hill climbs

And some early running repairs were required.

After lunch we hit the test track, where everyone was showing off there flex

And some may have needed some recovery/road building to get them through (fortunately no photos of my effort)

We then went for some more hill climbs, and with all the wheel spin it got a little dusty

Who's car was that???

Jonathan, Vicki and Elliot headed home at the end of the day, while the rest of us enjoyed a rather large, warm fire before heading off to bed.

The overnight temperature dropped to a nice chilli 3 degrees. After we all warmed up around the fire again and had breakfast, it was time to hit the tracks once more. After a few little challenges, we made our way to the top of Love Hill and then Bald Knob.

One final dip was had by the adventurous and then back to the campsite to pack up and return home (sorry for the blurry shot, still working out the new camera)

Thank you all for a very enjoyable weekend.

We all had a great time!

Also at the Trip we welcomed Tim and Mel as new members.

Some of my photos.

Don't worry, I got a photo (and video) of the recovery.

We wouldn't want Mark to loose a mud flap...

Loved it! Except for the fuel economy... i averaged 30L/100kms over the weekend! (this includes the highway driving)

Thanks Mark and Arie, we had a great time during the day at The Springs. At night it got that cold that I had to put Mariana in 2 sleeping bags. She already had thermals and Socks etc etc on. This trip was the first time I had been out in my car since having a new clutch fitted. It smelled like a burning clutch for most of Saturday and you will see in the video that I probably could have attemted a few of the obstacles a bit harder. Clutch was fine on Sunday and is getting smoother and smoother.

What a great couple of days, managed not to break anything but did loose my UHF.
Dave, if you remind me I can give you the spare parts from my radio as they should fit yours. Charger, Hand held mic etc
Cheers Ben and Mariana and Indiana
