Bribie Island - Day Trip 24th Jan
Posted: January 25th, 2015, 2:39 am
After the Fraser Island trip was somewhat cancelled* due to the bad weather forecast, a last minute Bribie Island trip posted.
We had 5 vehicles make the trip, that started with a lunch at a local fish shop. Due to the tide times, we then travelled up the inland "Northern Access" track. By the time we reached the beach, the tide was reasonably low, and we travelled down to "1st lagoon" for a swim. Though the ocean water was just as warm.
Here we are parked next to the lagoon.

The forecast rain in the afternoon never arrived, but Gridpack did .... and just in time for dinner on the beach. The weather was pleasant, and was we watched the sun set, we packed up and headed south along the beach to exit onto the Blacktop.
Everyone seemed to have a great time.
* The forecast for Fraser Island region on the BOM site was rain in the morning, and 80% change of rain in the afternoon. Two groups did end up going to Fraser Island, and they took great delight in sending us photos of blue sky. But, at 2:26am (Sunday morning), it's raining on the Island. I'm somewhat relieved now.
