It was a nice sunny Saturday morning when WhiteKnight (did I get that right?), Gridpack, BenJancz and Dave groups meet up for the Stanthorpe trip.
We started our winery tour at Castle Glen, parting with only a little cash.
Later that day, we ate lunch in a park next to the main river in Stanthorpe, and then visited a few more wineries. Strangely, I think we came home with more jams than wines. Naturally, we had to stop by the Bramble Patch for the deserts. A berry frozen yoghurt ice-cream cone was very populate with a young girl.
We ended up camping overnight .... in a 4 star hotel, and even had dinner in the restaurant next door. The next morning we walked all the way to the Sunday markets (ok - it was across the road). But there was frost on the cars in the morning. We then drove down to the river where we then walked to the old rail bridge.
Did someone drop their car keys?
For lunch on Sunday, Keri took us to a "secret" location, which turned out to be Donnellys Castle. There were some very large boulders and cavities (caves) under them.
There was a warning about the yowies in the area, and how they would eat little children.
Strangely, while Dave's boys were in a "cave", they heard the yowie howl .... which sent them running (well - only for a few seconds). It was a very funny after they calmed down.
Thanks Keri for organising the trip. And the secret location was a great hit, especially with the kids.
