Hi All,
We'll try again - subject to Covid restrictions/lockdowns of course:
We have rescheduled our foodie trip to the Stanthorpe area on the 23rd and 24th October.
The trip itinerary includes visiting Donnellys Castle (for a leg stretch) and a smattering of establishments where we can taste or purchase wine, gourmet Jam, chilli/garlic sauces, cheese, craft beer, chocolates etc around the Stanthorpe area.
Dinner on the Saturday is planned to be a sunset pizza feast sitting outside around fire pits at a winery - booked for 5:00 pm. (Bring a coat)
Entering NSW is out so I will book Sunday breakfast at Wallangarra Railway Station (8:30am) and we can work our way back towards home via Heavenly Chocolates etc. The eating venues we have/will book seem as Covid safe as possible.
We may break into a couple of groups to visit wineries etc depending upon interests - and also to manage numbers at some establishments that have Covid number restrictions.
Those attending should book accommodation in Stanthorpe ASAP as it is a busy time of year on the Granite belt.
Where: Stanthorpe area
Cost: Bring your wallet - Accommodation, meals and allow for purchasing wines / jams / beers / cheese etc at wineries etc
When: Saturday 23rd October and Sunday 24th October
Meeting Place: I will book a table for Breakaway on Saturday at Suttons Juice Factory Cidery and Cafe (diagonally opposite the Big Apple) at 11.30am. This will be the official meeting point for the trip, however for anyone who hasn't been before I'll meet you at the Aratula bakery at 9:30am.
UHF: Channel 13
Trip Leader: Don - 0407 030 693
Please confirm here if you are coming. It should be a nice comfortable relaxing weekend - and you can leave low range at home.
If you have favourite establishments in the area that you'd like to visit - post them up.
Here's hoping we aren't in lockdown again.
Cheers,
Don

We are booked in at the apple and grape across the road, their website says they are booked out on the 23rd but as with the Boulevard, if you call you can still get one. Note that I called the Boulervard motel and could not get a room. She did say things can change.
I’m not sure that makes sense.

So far so good - no lockdowns!!! touch wood.
It looks like we have Dave, Ben, Terry and their respective crews plus a guest coming on the Foodie weekend.
It may be useful to have some camp chairs along for the weekend just in case - but don't worry about them if space is an issue.
We'll meet at Suttons as the official kick off spot but Terry and Guest aren't sure how to get to Suttons so I'm meeting them at the Aratula bakery at 9:30.
There is a table booked for "Breakaway" at Suttons at11:30. The apple pie is highly recommended.
See you at Suttons!
Cheers,
Don
