Here comes the annual post - where do we want to go next year?
Also, how often do we want to do trips? We had planned for 2 trips a month previously, one camping and one day trip. What are peoples thoughts on this for the year ahead?
Trips for 2016
Re: Trips for 2016
Some of my thoughts are below.
We would/should be available for at least 1 day trip per month. Camping .... it depends on school activity and schedule across 4 kids (oh - and even sometimes factoring in tasks for two adults too). Though we would like to do 1 camping trip per month, we could probably only attend half that amount. But we could still post a camping trip for each month to allow others to attend or even trip.
Some trip destination suggestions for 2016.
CAMPING :
- Fraser Island (no sink holes there yet)
- Stradie Island. Maybe an overnight camp on main beach on top of the dunes.
- Coffs Harbour. One of the national parks. A long weekend needed.
- Rubyvale. A couple of nights on the sapphire fields. Maybe even dig up a gem. Easter long weekend as 4 days are needed?
- Sundown National Park. There is still a track that needs exploring. Again, a long weekend needed.
- Gordon Country. New tracks were opened up about 12 months ago.
- Levuka
- Somewhere just over the NSW boarder in one of the national parks.
Day Trips :
- Bribie Island. Manly in the summer months.
- Glasshouse Mountains
- Some 4x4 parks
- Imbul State forest (finish exploring the northern end ..... where Prados can loose important bolts)
- Charlie Moreland /Boolumber creek crossings

Re: Trips for 2016
G'day Dave and Mark
I think if you are able to get two trips a month on the calendar would be good, but its not just up to you two and a few others to do all the trip leading. It would be really good if everyone could put in a small commitment to themselves and the club and commit to leading at least one trip a year. Take us to your favorite locations it doesn't have to be hard core 4x4, forest drives are great, camping is good fun. After all you get out what you put in.
I will run a trip to Toonumbar Dam NSW one weekend for some camping but unsure the date as yet.

Re: Trips for 2016
I'd like to go back to Sundown while it is still warm. Dave hasn't been to the Springs yet either...

Hi All,
Don't forget to post any ideas you have for any trips in 2016. We are looking to create a draft 2016 calendar in the near future.
Thanks
Dave.

Re: Trips for 2016
So what trips do we want to do for January - glasshouse, Duck creek rd? Camping trip?
Also, there was mention of a couple of camping trips - Sundown and The Springs - any dates that would suit so that I can put it on the calendar.

Re: Trips for 2016
We are fairly booked up for January, so we would be stuggling to reserve a full weekend. But I'm sure we could make time for a day trip. Maybe a glasshouse or even a Charlie Morelands day trip??? We would be available on the 16th, 23rd, 24th and 30th of January.
What are the thoughts or availability of other members?
Thanks
Dave.
