Duck Creek Rd to O'Reiley's - 5th Feb

Post by Capella_Ben »

Well we missed out on Scenic rim, but the weather is looking much better. Lets try for an easy run up to O'Reiley's

Trip Leader: Ben (Capella_Ben)
Where: Duck Creek Rd to O'Reileys
Costs: Free!
Standard: Blue Square
Meeting location: Beaudesert McDonalds at 9:00am on the 5th Feb
UHF: Channel 13.

Once we get there, we can have lunch and go for the tree top walk.

Greg has found a good place to camp if you want to stay the weekend; Darlington Park. This site has some info on Darlington park (you will have to scroll down a bit) http://www.scenicrim.qld.gov.au/home/-/ ... 98C5ED9EEB.

Jason did report that there was a landslide on the road. I can't see that there is an official road closure. Apparently the council was going to clean it up quickly. I have a call in to them to find out for sure, so I'll keep you informed. But just in case, bring a shovel!

The Dippies are very interested both in the camping at Darlington Park and the duck creek road, will confirm in the next day or so.

I have an email in with the council, but they have not got back to me yet. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say.

I'll let you know. Thanks.

p.s. do you need to know now so you can plan your week out?

I could not get a definitive answer from the council, so yes please if you could have a quick look there on Friday, to at least see if it is open, I would be most grateful.

Hey, if it is closed maybe we can go to Scenic Rim!
