Hi, Looks like we would need a minimum 20 groups to book the group camping site. And you cannot take trailers into this area either.

I had a look at the other camping sites that allow trailers, and it appears they are all booked (at least for the 28th of September)

So it looks like we would be limited to the tent only sites, or people can book the beachfront camping areas if they want to bring a trailer. Also, from memory, a trailer will cost an extra $80 for the vehicle ferry crossing.

I'm not sure if this trip was discussed at tonight's meeting (the one I missed), but I just had a look at the camp site bookings for Central Station. There appears to have been many bookings made this week, and only 3 spots are left from Saturday the 29th. All previous days are booked.

So if only 3 other people/families are wishing to stay at central Station, then we need to book asap.

Plan B - we stay at a beach site, and with enough adults around, keep the dingoes away from the kids. We would also be locked in hours around high tide, and the beach can be windy (very very windy).

Anyone have a perference?

Hi All,
Well ... it appears one of the other groups cancelled their bookings. This means that from Saturday 29th of September, 8 camper-trailer spots are now free, and 16 normal tent sites are free.

Were people still interested in going to Fraser on the long weekend in Sept/1st Oct? Was there somewhere else people were thinking of going?

Hi Dave,
The meeting was pretty small last night as a lot of the members are away. There was one other group interested but not yet able to commit. Arie and I have booked central station, however we can change our camp spot if required. We will be locked into going from the Friday to the Monday due to work commitments, however there is no reason why others cant do other dates.

Mark,

Can you please add this to the Trip Calender forum as an official trip. If we send an email to all members we might get some more takers.
