This has just come up in a couple of other threads and I thought it warranted its own (and not to hijack others original posts).

It appears there are some changes afoot in the Glasshouse. The management rights were sold by our beloved Anna in 2010 (http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/land/state/q ... -sale.html) and now usage of the area has become uncertain.

There are plenty of posts flying around the internet at the moment saying that Glasshouse is now closed and that police and hidden cameras are being used to identify "trespasses".

The new management holders are HQPlantations. After checking out their website http://www.fpq.net.au/recreation.html it seems that access for individuals on formed roads is still granted, however for club activities we would need to obtain a permit.

I guess the question is the definition of a formed road, does this keep us off the good stuff?

I called HPQ/FPQ today to see what I could find out. She pretty much quoted from this http://www.fpq.net.au/Links/fourwheeldriving.pdf which I had not found on their website. So no use of the fire trails or "blade cut" roads, she also said that the Powerline tracks are definitely out. I suggested to her that the reason we like going there is to find some challenges and she replied that if we are finding challenges, we probable shouldn't be in that area.

She did suggest going to the information centre in Red Rd, Beerburrum where they can run through a map of allowable tracks (only open Monday to Friday).

If we do decide to do a club trip, for groups of more than 5 (people/vehicles?), a permit will be required to use the area costing approx $25. This permit can be used to cover multiple trips for up to 12 months.

Thanks for following this up. Seems like a very dispointing direction they are taking. I'll try to get to the information centre mid August, unless someone else gets there first.

So how do you know where their land is? I could not find any maps on their web site.
