Cuboid's GU

I have now replaced the ill fated Ranger with a GU Patrol.
It has a rear locker and I have had a tow bar installed. I have taken out the third row of seats today. Oh, and I did manage to add some mud over the weekend.
The immediate plan is for a bull bar (probably ARB), winch (Tigerz11), snorkel, to refit my uhf and a reversing camera. Longer term look to a lift, 33"'s and who knows what else!!!

Nice machine there Mark. But you have now lost the "new car, never been washed look" after only 1 day.
All those mods you mentioned will be a good starting point. Looking forward to whatever else comes after that!

Got some work done on the car today with Greg's help.
It started with a few boxes
The car got half naked, and in a rare moment Greg was caught consulting the instructions.
The bar almost ready to go on and Pep-C was keeping a close eye on proceedings.
Some "customisation" of the winch clutch handle was required
And the final result - a new ARB bar and Runva 12000 lb winch. Unfortunately the Safari snorkel is still in the box, waiting for another day.

If I get a day off next weekend, we will do the snorkel then for sure

Looks very nice. What a difference. Now you'll have to try out the winch with the vehicle stuck in some deep mud.
But why is that one part up side down? (only joking)

Trust me this wasnt an easy job.
But then again when you own class nothing is easy.

I have been looking at the Runva winches as well, 5 year electrical warranty seems great value. Not sure I need a 12000 pound winch unless I want to hang my car up from a tree.

I went with 12000 lb as only an extra $100 dollars. Hopefully the extra grunt will mean it works a little easier too and not get as hot [fingers crossed]

I now have the radio and aerial installed and got the Snorkel on with Greg on Saturday.
There was a little hiccup in the installation of the aerial with the instructions being incorrect. They stated that for the 3L engine (the same snorkel is used for the 3 and 4.2 diesels) that only one hole needed to be drilled though the guard and for 4.2 L another hole is drilled through the inner guard. I can now confirm that the later model 3.0 L also require a hole through the inner guard. So in the end we needed a 108mm (got away with a 105) and 95mm hole saws.

And the end result
