Teewah - Double Island Point Sat 24/10

Post by cuboid »

Arie and I are looking to head up the beach for a day later this month. Low tide on the day in question is scheduled for 11-11:30, almost perfect for a trip up to the lagoon behind double island point. I say almost perfect, as it will require an early start from Brisbane. It would require an 8 am departure for the BP at Morayfield to be at the Noosa River ferry just after 9 (Arie and I would be meeting in comers at the Ferry as we will already be in Noosa). If some wanted to turn it into a camping weekend, go for your life.

The details:
Trip Leader: Mark
Where: Cooloola National Park
Costs: Vehicle Pass $11.75 per day and best purchased here http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/recreation- ... _fees.html. If camping, additional fees will apply.
Standard: Green
Meeting location: BP Service Centre Morayfield (last one there has to write up the trip report) for people coming from Brisbane, otherwise at the Tewantin Ferry for those traveling from Sunshine Coast. If you plan to attend, please post in this thread or we will not know you are coming.
Meeting time: 7:45 for 8:00am. Planned meeting time at the ferry of 9:15 am
UHF: Channel 13.

Bring along some lunch, a chair, camera and a some togs. If conditions are right, lunch at the lagoon would be nice. I will take the gazebo for some shade.

Dave and family might be available for this trip. I can't confirm until the Thursday morning of the 22nd, but there is a good chance I should be free for this trip.
Thanks for organising the trip.

I will be going and I will Camp on the beach overnight to try my hand at some fishing. At some point I will also head out to Inskip to check out the sink hole. I can bring some firewood.

Not sure yet when or where I will meet up with you as I may visit a friend at Coolum on Friday evening. Will let you know closer to the day.

Hi Mark,

I just remembered we need to get a vehicle permit to drive along the beech. I'll probably get the daily permit ($11.75 per day).

Ben, Mariana and Indiana hope to come on this trip. Indy has picked up another bug at daycare and is currently quite sick. If she improves in time we will meet you all at Teewah beach Lagoon. It will be a slow trip there for us as we will need to stop every hour for a feed or play break.
Cheers Ben and Mariana and Indiana

So for Saturday we have

Cuboid - leaving from Noosa (have to pick up the mother in law)
RegyRocky - leaving from Noosa
Dave - leaving from Brisbane
Ben Jancz - making own way to the lagoon

The plan will be to meet at the ferry at 9:15. There is a QPWS info office and car park that we can meet at. If it is too full or the ferry line to long, find somewhere to pull up on the side of the road and be on channel 13 so we can get in touch.

And I just remembered - the Noosa North Shore Ferry is $7 one way - so bring some change.

Thanks for the update Cuboid. I'll be able to confirm our attendance in just under 24 hours.
My kids are already keen and eager to go (they would go tomorrow morning if they could).
