Loxsmith, a visitor from the Cape Yorker forum, had arrived about an hour before us and had his camp well established.
Once we had all set camp it was time to sit and enjoy the serenity over a couple of coldies and to get to know our visitors.
It was a good night, not too cold, which was good because the wood we had scavenged was not the best burning wood around.
GV88 was the first to arrive on Saturday, then the Boxes and finally Rocky.
Not long into our first drive of the weekend the Box mobile had a little moment with a tree.
It did put a bit of a dampener on the rest of the drive, but, as it turned out, it wasn't anything we couldn't fix (sorta) by ourselves.
On returning to camp the damage was surveyed and it was decided if we were to remove this, and hit that with a hammer, maybe pull this bit here, and tie that off to a tree it might just do.
It did.
On completion of the repairs it was decided we should sit around a fire and congratulate ourselves on a job well done, besides it was getting a little late in the day.
After a slow start on Sunday morning the Boxes decided to call it a weekend and head for home.
GV88 opted to stay spend some time in camp while the rest of us took off for a short drive, it was a good drive with no notable events to report.
Though with fully packed vehicles some of the cross slopes did get a little worrying at times.
At the end of the drive Rocky, Ken and GV88 also headed for home while Loxsmith and Nedly went back to camp to pack and enjoy the last of the day.
It was then I decided to re-spool the winch cable, didn't happen.
The winch didn't retrieve the cable so ended up driving homwe with the cable wrapped around the bull bar, and I thought I had nothing else to do before heading to the Cape
Anyway, everyone had a good time on the weekend, with the possible exception being the Boxes.
There certainly was a lot of laughter around the fire on Sat night.
The weather was perfect, warm sunny days and the nights weren't that cold. Most of the weekend there was enough of a breeze to keep the cattle flies away.
It was the best trip ever.
I'll put up some photos once I reduce their size.

Thanks for the trip report Nedly. Here are a few pictures I took on the weekend.
