Re: Freshwater (Cooloola Coast) Jan 26-28

I've finally been able to book our campsite. There is a problem with the system, and even the QPRSR people couldn't work out the reason for the error. There are 4 tent sites available over the weekend, but the system gives an error. So it was recommended I book a Trailer site instead. There are no numbered sites at the campground.

So I recommended to book asap if you're intending to come along.
We had such a good time on Moreton Island (and helped to recover half the vehicles on the Island ... long story), we will aim to arrive a day eariler to enjoy the warm weather at the beach. So we will arrive on the 25th of Jan, and stay for 3 nights in total.

Yes - staying in the campground would be the best option. If staying on the beach, you would be locked in at high tide, and Mark was planning a trip into the forest areas starting Sunday morning (around peak high tide??). But then again, you could borrow on of my kids. Their alarm clock goes off at around 5:30am, and would then get you to the Freshwater campsite before peak high tide.

Cancelled my booking and re-booked a trailer site. The threat of a child alarm clock was more than i could handle.

The Freshwater campground is near (200m) from the beach, but the road out is a sandy (salt-free) track up to Inskip point.

I'm going up Friday morning, and hang around the campground around lunch time Saturday.

It appears that we have five groups camping at Freshwater

Hopefully the weather holds out for us. Looks like it might be windy too, we should have good protection at the camp ground.

We're planning on coming up for the Saturday for a day trip depending on Victoria's belly etc.

If we make it we're going to meet the group on Saturday morning at Morayfield. Who is going to be in that group so we can message them if we're not going to make it?
