Somerset Exploring Trip

Post by cuboid »

So we all met up at Fernvale on Monday morning, not quite knowing what to expect. All included the Jackson 5, Dave (DP), Dave (Puma) and Debbie, Tim (Bulldozer) and Myself and Arie.

We had a nice scenic drive past Wivenhoe and Splityard Creek Dams before reaching Somerset. We had a few potential entry points and one by one we found each to be locked. That was the bad news, but the good news was that we were now close to alot of other areas where we could have a play - Jimna, Bellthorpe, Mt Mee or Glasshouse. Our fearless trip leader decided that we would head to the Woodfood end of Glasshouse.

So we drove some of the tracks in this section of the park. Well not overly hilly, there were a few mud puddles to traverse (a video may appear of a certain patrol careering out of control - it is doctored, a mere figment of someones imagination). We found a nice shady spot for lunch and then followed it with some more driving afterward. It was then decided to drive home through Mt Mee and down A break rather than risking the end of long weekend run down the highway.

Thanks Ben for organising the trip. I will endeavor to get some photos up in the near future, just having some camera software issues at the moment.

Wow, someone did a great job of doctoring the video, that Patrol at the end looks totally realistic... :D
