BogOut

Post by Capella_Ben »

Hi All,

I came across this recently.

http://www.bogout.com/

Not sure if it is a good or bad idea but it certainly is inventive.

Was talking about it a bit at work. You really need two of them hooked up. If you only had one then the other wheel would most likely spin freely. You wouldn't want to winch yourself out with just one wheel and the locker; might break something.

If you need two then you need two anchor points. They would have to be almost perfectly in line because you would not want to "fall off" the rope ladder and have it wind around the axel. So you need two anchor points directly in line with the rear wheels and a track widths apart. You are not always going to find that...

BTW - I've been holding onto the recovery gear. I personally have all the same gear (plus more), so did anyone else wish to take it along to a trip, e.g. out to Janowen Hills?

I may be able to attend the Janowen Hills trip myself, but I can't confirm until Saturday night.
