Scenic Rim 4WD Park Oct 2010 [Recovered]

Post by Capella_Ben »

[MAVERICK01]

Well the day all started as I and Ranae met up with Ben and family,Craig and family,Will and Christine.

We met at the park around about 9am and once we had signed in and let teh tyres down we were off like a bullet of a gate, the first half of the day consisted if a nice scenic drive along tour drive 2 and 3 and this is when we met up with dale and family (possible new members). After we filled the stomach on some beautiful slices that Jane had made we continued along tour drive 3 and found some nice easy tracks which then took us back to camp 6 for a lunch break.

After this we came across this awesome track (unsure of name) we as in 3 cars progressed up this and found it an exciting drive, coming back down we came across these mud puddles and this is where the fun started as Ranae egged me on teh go for it and next minute i was stuck up to the sills, after alot of help from many members and non members and many snatch recoveries we managed to recover it.

We all decided this was going to be the end the day and just finished of by inflating tyres and saying our goodbyes.

If anyone needs to add anything feel free and i will say for those who never came along you all missed out on the very best day out.

Craig did a wonderful job with the spade and hi-lift. 5 minutes after it happened, half the people at the park turned up with all sorts of useful advice. There wasn't anything that we could winch off and going back was the preferred option. After a lot of digging and doing some clearing with the hi-lift the crusier pulled her out. It was a good safe recovery that ran pretty smoothly.

Good day day by all. Took me a few hours to get the cruiser clean again this morning though....
