The track to the campground was showing some wear from the season of wet weather, but wasn't a real challenge for the 4x4 group.
After setting up camp, and a chat or two, the group headed off to drive probably the only open track. Other tracks were very overgrown. The track had a few challenging sections, but nothing that put the vehicles at risk of damage. At the end of the track, we did see the "king of the mountain".

As the afternoon approached, the group was back at that campground, and a few people walked to the Sunset lookout.
Here are some kids enjoying the view at Sunset lookout.

Marina was motivated to fire up the pizza oven, which we were told will take around 2 hours to heat up. Ben did a great job in getting a hot flame going under the pizza plate.
In the mean time, with clear looking skies, Chris set up the star-tracker ready for some night time deep sky photos. The target was the Sculptor Galaxy. Chris will share the photos shortly.
Here are a couple of photos of the camp area at night.

The AGM was postponed to the next day as Cos, Chris and David focused on astrophotography. It was a rare event this year since there were clear skies and a moonless night. After others went to bed, Cos and David continued to take photos of the Orion Nebula. A set of stacked photos resulted in the following image.

The next morning we found ourselves with heavy cloud cover, and even mist (clouds) blowing through the camp site in the early morning. But the tents were relatively dry. With the rain radar showing heavy rain coming in our direction, we decided to pack up and drive down the 4x4 track to the national park area. There we had the clubs AGM, and the committee members elected for the year ahead.
Shortly after midday the group headed home to wash cars, unpack, etc. The weather was certainly fantastic, and the group had a heap of fun getting outdoors again.
Cheers
David.
