Glasshouse July 09 [Recovered]

Post by Capella_Ben »

It took 35 minutes to change the tyres over on the Patrol for the big trip to the Glasshouse. The Glasshouse is one of my favourite offroad destinations it is scenic, the tracks are very unpredictable, nine times out of ten it’s wet up there and finally its free. Saturday morning was the meet up time at the Humble Pie North of Caboolture this is where we caught up with all the other members attending this trip, there was several vehicles on this trip 13 people initially but that number grew as weekend went along.
We travelled in convoy (safety in numbers) to the camp ground, where we quickly set up and commandeered the communal under cover shed for our party but as it turned out the camp ground was pretty quiet for the weekend, so we shared the shed with a few European tourists latter that night.

Scenic right

Some of the tracks were very slippery but with lower tyre pressures, good mud tyres abit of clearance underneath and abit of right boot, bring it on I say

All the utes got through on A/T tyres with reduced pressures, good training for those Cape York drivers

Even the std Range Rover got thru most stuff it encounted

Saturday night we had a good fire, good company and good times all round. Sunday we started off mid morning in search of some more tracks only to run into mechanical problems with one of the vehicles so we all headed back to the camp site to pack up the reaining gear and headed home.

Best trip ever
Ben
