Well we're all home and the tent and gear is all dried out.
The weekend started out good. Greg, Renae, me and family got up there Friday night. We got there by 7:30, the kids were asleep by 8:30 and the fire was roaring.
Saturday morning Karen and Alan, Tim and Michele and Gary and Dave arrived and setup. After lunch we hit the tracks. First up was the play ground for some stretching exercises.

After a few spins through we all decided to get up one particular hill. One after another we gave it a go, all to no avail. Some got their wheels almost to the top just to be denied. No recoveries so far...
We then went on to Rufus Run. All was going well, when in some deceivingly deep ruts Gary's jeep decided to have a rest on it's diffs. After a quick tow out by Alan we were away again.
We then got to a one way track down to a muddy gully with a steep climb on the other side. We decided to send Gary through first. After a bit of back and forth at the bottom he scrambled up the side with no dramas.
Tim was next and he kept to the side so he wouldn't chew up the track for Alan. Unfortunately this caused him to skew off to the side of the track and he stopped. Now, fro a distance it didn't seem so bad, but up close he had fallen into a huge hole. Even with all of Tim's considerable flex (and some very fast wheel spin) it was no go.
So after a while we were on the hand winch. This was pretty slow going and pretty hard work. By this time Karen was getting cold and decided to go back to camp. I went over to the other side to look for a sturdy stick or rock to help out and I saw the Rodeo sitting there spinning its wheels. After a quick snatch she was out, but she decided to hang around after all. I guess that warmed her up.
After a bit more hand winching with the prospect of a bit more to go, we decided to get Greg's patrol down the other side to winch out. Well I jumped in with Greg and we took off to to get to the other side of the track. We'll go where Karen went we won't get stuck. Well we got in the holes alright but there we stayed. No worries, just throw the rear locker at it. Nope. No worries, chuck the front in as well. Nope. After an embarrassing moment Greg backed out and went around it.
After winching Tim out we had a good look at the hole. It was bigger than I thought and all the Maxxis digging uncovered an underground cavern.
After a bit more of a drive through the rainforest, we dropped off some passengers and went to the other playground.

The bag hole was no problem, but those logs were pretty slippery!
On the way home it started to rain, and that night it rained continually. any more driving was out of the question and unfortunately we had to pack up wet. Thankfully Queensland has better weather!
We aired up at Woodenbong.

The obligitory vid. I do have some footage of others cars and I can give out on request.
