Below are some suggestions for trips during 2014. But your input and contribution is welcomed. Would you like to volunteer to lead a trip?
Please let me know if you have other preferred dates, ideas for other destinations, or any other suggestions.
January
•25,26,27 Glendon Campgrounds (Australia Day Long Weekend) - [Dave].
February
•8 - Toowoomba day trip (various tracks hopefully under the guidance of a local 4x4 expert) [Tim]
•15 - Bribie Island day trip (explore inner Island, forts, then stop at a warm lagoon for a swim) [Dave]
March
•1,2 - Freshwater Camp ground, Cooloola Coast - [Dave]. This trip was planned for 2013, but cancelled due to the storm.
•8 - Glasshouse Mountains [Capella_Ben] (various non-state forest tracks. Bypass tracks are usually available around difficult patches. Highly recommended)
•22, 23 - Sandy Creek [Cuboid]
April
•12 Queen Mary Falls/Condamine River [Dave].
•25, 26, 27 - Springbrook Host Farm [Cuboid]
May
•10,11 - Gordon Country.
•17 Glasshouse Mountains trip [Dave].
•25 - Sunday Day Trip - Charlie Moreland [Cuboid].
June
•7,8,9 Inskip Point (Public Holiday Long Weekend) - [Dave].
July
•5,6 - The Springs 4x4 Park camping weekend. [Capella_Ben]
•19 Glasshouse Mountains trip [Dave].
•26 - Day Trip to Imbil State Forest. This trip may need to be postponed. Please check with Dave prior to attending [??].
•27 - Bribie Island day trip - Sun 27th July. Sand driving and recovery training [Dave].
August
•9 - City View 4x4 Park [Cuboid].
•23,24 - Janowen Hills 4x4 Park and overnight camp. [Capella_Ben]
September
•13 Glasshouse Mountains trip [Dave].
•28 Duck Creek Road and O'Reilys - Note this is a Sunday trip.
October
•6 - Day trip to explore 4x4 tracks west of Lake Somerset. [Capella_Ben].
•25,26 - Levuka 4x4 park - Cancelled. Will see everyone at the Christmas Party instead.
November
•8, 9 - Sandy Creek Camping (Christmas Party)
•23 - Glasshouse Mountains trip - Sunday 23rd Nov [Dave].
December
•13 - Champagne and Dinner on Bribie beach front [Dave].
•13,14,15 - Camping weekend + Monday somewhere away from lights to watch the meteor shower
•29 - Half day Glasshouse Mountains trip [Dave].
2015 -
• April 2015 Simpson Desert crossing and Ayres Rock trip around 19th April returning 2 to 3 weeks later (tentative dates) [Dave]
• June/July 2015 Cape York trip (including the school holiday period for around 3 to 4 weeks) [??]
