After 2 and a half days of fitting, grinding, fitting, cutting, painting, fitting, tightening, loosening, testing, grinding, soldering, etc, etc,etc.......it's all in! 8-)

Calling this a kit is stretching the friendship quite a bit. But with a lot of planning, some extra material and plenty of tools it can be done.

I had to remove a few pieces.

The pump mounting bracket ended up looking very neat.

Image

I had to make another bracket to hold the overflow tank (the silver metal).

Image

Was a bit concerned when the intake plumbing didn't line up all that well at first.

Image

But a lot of trimming of the silicone hose and a few choice words made it fit nicely.

In the end it is all together and working well.

There is still a little bit of tidying up to do. Will have to take it for a longer test drive.

Nice work Ben.

But it doesn't look right yet. Needs a fine coating of mud to blend in with the rest of the engine bay.

VERY NICE work, even if all that gleaming metal and plastic looks way out of place. Lucky its an easy fix :)

haha. I looked at a photo of it when I first got it. It was a fair bit cleaner then.....

Yours will be getting a bit clean. Needs a bit of Glasshouse smeared all over it!

There is this weird perception that my cruiser is a little more "dusty" than other cars. I think that kittens and bunny rabbits are the only thing that comes out the exhaust.

Well in order to make sure the bunny rabbits are nice and clean I have finally gotten around to getting the injector pump rebuilt. I had a good chat with the guy and he asked if I wanted the turbo boost increased. "Yes" I said "that sounds like a good idea". He also asked if I wanted the pump upgraded with a 12mm head so it can flow more. "Yes" I said "that sounds like a good idea". He also said that with an inter-cooler you can get up to 30PSI boost. 18PSI is enough for me at the moment. Will see how that goes first!

Pretty much everything of the pump was replaced, including the housing. A new boost controller was also added.

It drives heaps much better now and is even faster than it was before! The biggest problem now is that the boost gauge only goes up to 15 PSI!

Well I haven't updated this in a while. That is because my girlfriend has been for sale and last night someone else drove it away. :(

Many fun times were had, but now it should be going to a new home.......The new owner can't wait to go to the cape......

Oh well .... at least you have another Toyota to replace the 80. It's almost twice as good .... you know .... 80 + 70 = 150 series.

But the 80 would still have the route to the cape in the navigation system wouldn't it? But sounds like the 80 went to a good home. Nothing worse than using an 80 to only drive to the shops and back.

It is certainly twice as quiet!

The route to the Cape was in there until I did a factory reset of the stereo. Conveniently the factory reset also changed the language to Korean....
