Victorian High Country

Post by PK Blackburn »

Craig's Hut/Victorian High Country has been a long time bucket list of places to visit. So its no time like the present to visit what has been rated as 4th out of 10 best off road destinations in Australia. Unfortunately it has been beaten by 1. Simpson desert (been there done that :) ) 2. West coast of Tasmania 3. The Cape. Do not be despaired, I'm sure what the High country has to offer will be in a league of its own :drive:

The following details is a basic overview of what we will be looking at visiting while in the high Country. All itineraries/tracks are subject to change due to weather or other conditions.

I'm in!!!
There is such a smorgasbord of things to do and see there! I'll be investing in a warmer sleeping bag though.

I know Keri referred to it in one of the emails - but the references she uses in the itinerary re track number, page etc, are from the Hema "Victoria - The High country Atlas and Guide". I picked up a copy from Tentworld for $35.
It is an excellent reference if you want a bit of an appetizer for the trip. It has some good tips, photos, history, campgrounds, maps, tracks, etc etc.
Feel free to borrow mine or pick up your own.
Cheers,
Don
