Bribie Island Beach run Saturday 25th August

Post by GridPack »

Greetings,

We haven't done a Bribie Island trip for quite a while - the last one was cancelled due to rain.
If the weather is looking good, I'm proposing an afternoon trip on Saturday afternoon 25th August.

The plan is to meet behind the BP servo (see details below) at 1pm sharp, then run up the inland track, along the main beach to the WWII bunkers, and then back down the beach to "First Lagoon", for a late afternoon tea and a chance to soak up some beach vibe! I plan to be off the beach by 5pm - 5.30pm or thereabouts - as the tide will be coming in - and being August the wind may have a bit of bite by evening.

Where: Bribie Island
Cost: Requires a beach permit. Log into http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au book your beach permit online. A one month and one year permit is available.
When: Saturday 25th August 1pm.
Meeting Place: Meet at the carpark just behind the BP Servo (BP, Cnr Goodwin Dve & Hornsby Rd Hornsby Road, Bribie Island QLD 4507)
UHF: Channel 13
Trip Standard: Green
Trip Leader: Don
Running commentary on the Island: David

I won't make this one Don, I'm working on Saturday as I will be most Saturday's until October. I hope the weather holds out for you this time, they're forecasting rain on the weekend.

Cheers,

Cos.

Bribie Island Saturday 25th August - cancelled due to weathe

Post by GridPack »

The weather forecast for Saturday is looking very bleak. Not a lot of fun for kids or adults on the beach in the rain.
I'll cancel the trip this week and reschedule in the coming couple of months.
Cheers,
Don
