Party Planning [Locked - Do not use]

Post by maverick01 »

Just to inform everyone i have investigated into booking a fair proportion of charlie morlands for the christmas party on the 10-11 of Novemeber.

QPWS have informed me there computer system is playing up and they are not 100% sure if it will be up and running properly by the christmas party.

They cant book us in until the computers are up and running so just to be on the safe side is there any other camp grounds we could all go too.I will email QPWS too see if they can do something about booking us in.

I had another look at the web site today. They seem to have changed the site a little, and suspect it's based on a completely different web application.

The campsite booking service is still down, but I'm happy to walk to the city office and manually book the sites for people who wish to come along.

Since there are many tracks to explore in area (I've only done half in the past), we may go a day early, i.e. be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

That sounds good to me, and we also have the opportunity of phoning our bookings in as well. I think the reason why the site has changed is because it looks like the govt department DERM has changed to a new one called nprsr, national parks sporting and recreation. Anyway I think we should get the ball rolling on this sooner rather than later.

I like the idea of going down to the head office in the city. You don't necessarily have to accept the first answer you get from them. ;)

It could be that someone else really knows what is going on. The head office is also good at finding the right person.

We need to get numbers (or some idea of numbers). We should be there.

Dave, Wife, and kids will be there. If it's warm enough, we'll bring a few kayaks as well (2 adults kayaks, and 2 kids).

David and I went into the national parks office. What we need to do is to fill in the Group Activity Notification Form. Apparently this is the path to us getting a camp site for the whole club.

But how big of a camp site do we need? Well I need rough numbers of who is interested in coming. I need this soon so I can submit the form (then follow the bouncing ball).
