Got some time do some more jobs on the Lux. Last week I replaced the tail-shaft centre bearing. Mechanic quoted $450, I did it for a $130 bearing and bought a torque wrench. That all went surprisingly well.
Yesterday I tackled the sway bar link. Got new bushes and went to take the links off. Ping first link snaps off. Bugger. Got for the next and ping, off it comes. Double bugger. Now I have to take the whose sway bar off. 3 of the 4 bolts off, go the the 4th and Ping, triple bugger! This was the worst as I had a flush break of the bolt into the chassis.
Here is the link after I got it off. Note how rusted it is where the bold sheared.

It took me a while, but I drilled out the bolt in the chassis. Easy Outs were no good as it was too seized.
Here is what left of that bolt.

Here are the new links installed.

I now have a new rule: no undoing old bolts without with an hours worth of WD40 soaking.
All a good learning experience.
