This Saturday I'm planning a day trip to Bribie Island, i.e. meet for lunch, and afterwards hit the beach and stay for an early dinner.
The Fraser Island camping trip was cancelled due to the weather. Hopefully a day trip to the beach will not be too bad.
The plan :
Have lunch at a cafe/fish shop/take-away on the Island at 12:00pm. By 2:00ish, we can hit the beach and stop at "1st Lagoon" for a swim in warm water. Afterwards, we can continue up the beach and explore the World-war 2 forts. Possibly at the day-use area at the northern end, we can stop and have an early BBQ dinner. Low tide is not until around 6:00pm, so we have plenty of time to exit the beach.
Where: Bribie Island
Cost: Requires a beach permit. Log into http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.auto book your beach permit online. A one month and one year permit is available.
When: Saturday 24th Jan at 12:00pm. We will exit for the cafe by 12:15pm.
Meeting Place: Meet at the BP Servo (BP, Cnr Goodwin Dve & Hornsby Rd Hornsby Road, Bribie Island QLD 4507)
UHF: Channel 13
Trip Standard: Green
Trip Leader: Dave
What to bring : Money for Lunch (or BYO lunch), something to wear in or near the water, something for dinner (i.e. to have dinner at a remote picnic area. So please bring your own food and water).
