Hi all,
I'm considering a day or possibly an overnight trip to Teewah/Rainbow beach.
The plan is to drive along Teewah beach to :
- A walk up Red Canyon (coloured sands)
- A walk up to the lighthouse at Double Island point - spectacular views (and watch the turtles, dolphins, and Manta Rays swim by).
- A splash in the shallow but warmer waters north of Double Island point.
- Play with the coloured sands on Rainbow beach
If people are interested in staying overnight, we could stay at a hotel/apartment at Rainbow beach, or camp at Inskip point.
Then for two day :
- A walk to the Carlo Sandblow (short walk to the sandblow, but you'll then want to walk towards the ocean - spectacular view)
- Early morning dolphin feeding at Tin Can Bay
- A drive along Freshwater or Poverty Point roads (rain forest with a firm sandy base .... relatively easy drive).
Please let me know if you are interested in coming along, and whether you would prefer a single or two day trip, and if staying overnight, if you would like a tent/camping stay or apartment stay.
Dave.

Hi Dave,
You can count me in. It sounds like a good trip and I've never been up that way before so I'd prefer 2 days and not too fussed about camping or apartment. I guess it might depend on the weather, if it looks like we might get lots of rain I'd go for the apartment if they still had space.
I also have a guy at work who is interested in coming along, presumably with his family. I'll hopefully be able to confirm next week if he can make it or not.
Cheers,
Cos.

This is our favorite part of the world so we are coming. We stayed in Tin Can Bay (Sleepy Lagoon) last time we went which made it easy to go Dolphin feeding in the morning. Feeding starts at 8 but due to numbers at the moment you need to get in earlier. Happy also to stay Rainbow Beach, we will not be camping with Indy.
Cheers Ben and Mariana and Indiana

Hi Cos, Ben, - Yes, the idea of an apartment sounds good. There is a good change of some rain during late Feb. The Tin Can Bay option certainly has a location advantage to do some dolphin feeding in the morning. RainBow beach and Tin Can Bay are reasonably close anyway.

Hi guys
This weekend sounds great. I have put in for leave and although Feb is a very busy month for us, there is a high chance we can make it. Keep you posted
Cheers Keri

Oops, sorry forgot to add. Camping is my preference. Get in some practice before the High country (rain, hail or shine

Do we know where we are staying yet? Do we need to book accommodation? A friend of Ben & Mariana's contacted me and are planning on coming along and I need to get back to them with info on where we are staying (and I need to book too). I believe there will be 3 adults and a 2 year old.
Cheers,
Cos.

Hi Cos, we just got back from a cruise. We will try to catch up with them and let them know where we are staying which, unless we can be convinced otherwise, will be at Sleepy Lagoon Motel in Tin Can Bay.
